Overview

Castleton Commodities International, LLC (CCI) is seeking a Senior Gas Plant/Gathering Accountant for the Houston office. This position is a unique opportunity to help establish processes at a new and growing upstream division.

 

The Senior Gas Plant/Gathering Accountant will be responsible for the full range of revenue accounting and analysis for operations including oil, gas, and NGL’s.  Additionally, the incumbent will perform allocations, maintain CCI’s in TIPS and generate gathering fees for an East Texas pipeline gathering system. CCI is in a rapid growth phase and this position requires a Senior Revenue Accountant be involved and manage a full range of revenue activities for a new acquisition (including journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly/quarterly reporting for the upstream group) while establishing new processes.  After the process is established you will provide process guidance and thorough analysis and reporting. 

 

 

The ideal candidate will welcome the challenge of integrating new companies into our existing structure including setting up the business in our Quorum accounting system.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform accounting functions necessary to achieve accurate and timely month end close for Gas Gathering company.
  • Interface with Upstream accounting to book allocated volumes/ revenues for processed gas.
  • Interface with outsource provider to assure revenue recorded timely and accurately.
  • Prepare journal entries/accruals and perform thorough review of balances prior to closing books
  • Reconcile various monthly general ledger accounts. Identify and resolve issues timely.
  • Serve as an SME maintaining and supporting TIPS updates, allocations, CCI updates.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Answer and resolve internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquires.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of E&P industry experience, predominantly Gas Plant Accounting.
  • Prior experience with Quorum TIPS is required.
  • Must be self-directed and work with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management and with the operations personnel in the regional/district offices and field.
