Castleton Commodities International ( is hiring a Tax Manager in Shanghai who will be responsible for performing various income tax functions related to CCI’s Chinese/Asian operations. This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in Tax at a best in class commodity trading firm.


  • Manage, liaison, and review CCI’s Chinese income tax compliance function including annual corporate tax returns, estimates and applicable withholding tax returns prepared by Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Provide relevant data or inputs to Big 4 accounting firm for tax compliance purposes.
  • Ensures that all appropriate tax returns and payments are filed in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy.
  • Develop tax guidelines, process, and policies for the Asian operation.
  • Monitors changes in tax laws as they affect the company’s tax liability.
  • Responds to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings, compliance, claims, and related matters.
  • Oversees the maintenance of tax records and files.
  • Provide financial statement reporting support for statutory reporting purposes in Asia, including tax provision support and disclosure related information.
  • Prepare and provide input to U.S. parent for U.S. financial statement reporting purposes.
  • Managing and updating tax compliance calendar and related resources.



  • 10+ years of experience in accounting/tax including experience specific to financial services industry, with significant tax review experience or tax compliance function/process, and general knowledge of taxation in China.    
  • Corporate Tax Compliance
  • Experience with Value-Added Tax (VAT) requirements is a plus
  • SAP is a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree in taxation or
  • Certified Public Accountant
