  • Overview

    We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the CCI Controllers team. This person reports to the Controller, and will focus on the accounting for five newly acquired Power Plants. This person will also liaise closely with operations and accounting personnel at CCI’s US Power Asset locations as well as with finance organization of CCI and other assets.

     

    Controllers Division Overview:

     

    Controllers ensure that CCI meets all of its necessary financial control and internal and external reporting obligations.  In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with various aspects of the firm’s business.

     

    CCI’s Controllers Group combines technical, accounting and product knowledge to (i) provide collaborative advice, (ii) help analyze financial data and report facts, and (iii) maintain and implement controls which protect the firm’s assets and help sustain its reputation.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with transition of new companies into CCI’s accounting and reporting systems
    • Prepare and post periodic journal entries including inventory, accruals, and prepaid activity
    • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
    • Review and reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
    • Review and approve accounting coding of invoices and P-card
    • Identify, investigate, and document, material variances between actual results and the budget
    • Analyze data and financial reports for trends
    • Provide a support service by working with all departments and management to help provide information and make decisions
    • Offer professional judgment on financial matters, accounting policy, and on ways of improving existing, or implementing new, controls and processes
    • Interpret and communicate financial information to non-finance users
    • Be able to work with various systems
    • Assist gather audit support and other adhoc items
    • Identify areas with room for improvement and help to implement changes

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years’ experience ideally with public accounting experience focused on utilities or manufacturing. Will consider someone direct from a power utility or manufacturing firm as well.
    • Computer literate with good Excel skills
    • Commercial acumen
    • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as with a team
    • Excellent attention to detail, with strong academic background
    • Good communication skills and an energetic team player
    • SAP user is a plus
    • CPA and/or CMA is a plus
    • Ability to travel 50%
