  • Overview

    Castleton Commodities International, a commodity trading and investment firm, is hiring a Commercial Analyst to assist with the management and maintenance of all midstream contracts, both new and amended, for Castleton Resources. This will include drafting new contracts, coordinating revisions, managing execution of all contracts as well as maintaining distribution channels to communicate commercial opportunities to management, legal, credit, risk, and marketing as required.

    Responsibilities

    • Contract Administration (35%)
    1. Develop and maintain a midstream contract database that can be easily accessed and reference
    2. Date Trigger Management for expirations, escalations, redeterminations, and other events
      1. Coordinate action required with commercial
      2. Coordinate reporting and notification of “trigger” events; automate if possible
    3. Maintain all allocation documentation for 3rd party purchases, take-in-kind situations, and 3rd party shippers on proprietary systems
    4. Force Majeure Process
      1. Draft letter for commercial approval
      2. Determine contracts impacted by Force Majeure
      3. Coordinate efforts to communicate Force Majeure event to relevant external and internal parties
    5. Ensure all contractual reimbursements for well connects, aid-in-construction, and other activity is received by tracking efforts of joint interest billing, AFE accountants, and midstream payables
    6. Track, monitor, and report all take or pay issues including minimum volume commitments
    7. Monitor, communicate, and distribute information as necessary to account for all instances where Castleton Resources is taking production in-kind from non-operated properties and where non-operators are taking their production in-kind from Castleton Resources operated properties

     

    • Marketing Support (35%)
    1. Develop and maintain reporting system to track production volumes (gas, NGLs, and condensate) and estimate future volumes for budget
    2. Work with traders to track sales results and report same to management
    3. Assist traders with price redeterminations
    4. Work with scheduling to determine most optimal paths to move production from field to plant to obtain highest net-back price at lease
    5. Assist with optimizing contractual processing options such as ethane elections and communicate results each month to respective plants, commercial management, marketing and scheduling
    6. Work with midstream team to evaluate 3rd party producer gas purchases and transport on proprietary gathering systems

     

    • Accounting and Settlements Coordination (20%)
    1. Develop and maintain a rate matrix to communicate rate types and charges and any changes to accounting and commercial in a timely and accurate manner
    2. Communicate new meter additions and deletions for handling
    3. Communicate changes in service levels (low vs high pressure; firm vs interruptible)
    4. Ensure appropriate data is made available to properly account for 3rd party income to various JV partners
    5. Monitor, communicate, and distribute information as necessary to account for all instances where Castleton Resources is taking production in-kind from non-operated properties and where non-operators are taking their production in-kind from Castleton Resources operated properties
    6. Work with upstream, midstream, and downstream accounting groups to reconcile and answer various pricing, rate, or volume issues for natural gas and NGL sales and fees

     

    • Engineering Support (5%)
    1. Track all data requests from Upstream Management and Field Operations as it relates to marketing and midstream contract interpretation
    2. Assist in providing relevant contract dedications and current fee structures (rates) as needed
    3. Work with marketing, engineering, scheduling, and accounting to provide analytical information to assist in evaluating optimization projects
    4. Work with marketing, engineering, scheduling, and accounting to provide pro and cons of using one gas processor or gatherer over another

     

    • Land/Division Order/Joint Interest Coordination (5%)
    1. Ensure new wells and associated meters are added to relevant gathering and processing contracts as needed.
    2. Serve as Marketing’s Liaison with above groups to ensure appropriate data exchange and communication occurs with various JV partners

    Qualifications

    • Ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience in midstream or upstream contract administration, may consider candidate that have Midstream or Revenue Accounting experience
    • Strong understanding of midstream gathering and processing contracts; Intimate knowledge with East Texas and North Louisiana is a plus
    • Business development experience a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Self-initiative and attention to details to complete tasks with little supervision
    • Capacity and desire to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while supporting various stakeholders including internal team members and management and external customers and vendors
    • Strong Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
