  • Overview

    Castleton Commodities International (CCI) is seeking a Enterprise Application Developer to extend its commodities trading application development team in Houston, TX. The role requires the candidate to design, develop and maintain applications designed to collect and perform analysis on various market data and transaction data as well as produce analytical reports.


    • Responsible for supporting day to day IT operations of the trading desk and enterprise commodities applications
    • Write tools to automate tasks needing a lot of manual support
    • Write ad-hoc scripts as needed that could help analysts better perform their daily tasks
    • Write data scrapes to support analytics and reporting by the desk
    • Design and develop robust strategic solutions when required


    • The development environment is Java, C#.NET, Excel, MATLAB and Oracle.
    • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms)
    • Past experience working within a globally distributed team would be beneficial
    • Proactive individual with experience working within a fast paced environment
    • Strong verbal communication skills on both technical and non-technical topics
    • With the ability to analyze and resolve day-to-day problems; manage multiple concurrent tasks and shifting priorities; interact with technical and user personnel and ability to work with little supervision on assigned tasks.
    • Working knowledge of the energy markets, products and trading instruments
    • Bachelor’s Degree any relevant discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering.
    • 5+ years’ experience, preferably for Commodities/Trading business.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Licenses:
      • Java (J2EE)
      • C# .NET
      • SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Oracle, Sybase
      • Microsoft Excel
    • Desirable:
      • Python
      • VBA
