    About Ingenco/Riverview:

    Industrial Power Generating Company (“INGENCO”), owns, designs, develops, constructs, and operates landfill gas-to-electricity and distributed generation facilities. INGENCO currently owns and operates 160 MW of capacity across 18 facilities located in the U.S. mid-Atlantic region. INGENCO sells energy, capacity, and renewable energy credits via several long-term off-take retail contracts as well as through the wholesale markets.

    Riverview Power LLC is a regionally diverse power portfolio with approximately 1,500 MW of total capacity in 6 states. It consists of two peaking facilities in New York, one peaking facility in Texas and one landfill gas to energy company with operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic.


    Position Overview:

    The Vice President of Retail Energy will be responsible for managing and building out the specialty retail energy business at Ingenco in the PJM market, with a focus on renewable energy for commercial and industrial customers.  This position will be responsible for developing Ingenco’s customer base as well as managing existing customer relationships. In addition to these activities, the role will also have some operational oversight.  In this role, there is significant leeway to alter, refine and streamline internal processes. Position will have considerable interaction across many business units, with opportunity to lead and influence strategic company directives. Ideal candidates will be based in Richmond, VA but will consider those willing to travel frequently (50%) to Richmond who are located in the NY/CT or Houston, TX area.


    Key Responsibilities:

    New / Existing Business

    • Conduct direct sales activities with current and prospective customers, including pricing, contract negotiations, deal closing and onboarding
    • Manage relationships with existing brokers and build the platform of brokers to source new business. Develop and negotiate contracts and terms with brokers, provide pricing to brokers and sales support
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain knowledge about targeted customers' organizations
    • Educate customers in Virginia on energy choice
    • Build and actively maintain prospect pipeline
    • Prioritize prospective customer opportunities, to provide timely responses to customer inquiries and requests for proposals
    • Develop proposal opportunities for long-term power sales, coordinating pricing, credit, risk management, legal, and physical delivery input requirements as required
    • Conduct basic financial analyses of customers' energy economics, projected margins and contribution toward business plan
    • Liaison with AEP and Dominion as needed to get customer usage information
    • Perform all customer service as needed
    • Proactively address questions, concerns and opportunities from all customers
    • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all electric contracts applicable to customers in the assigned area of responsibility, including those of other competitors
    • Keep pricing model current


    • Create presentations and other materials to support the development of the retail business
    • Develop and manage business plans and annual budgets needed to implement marketing andcommunication strategies
    • Engage with prospects at conferences and other industry events
    • Update website / enhance content


    • Work with internal resources to evaluate and implement a retail energy billing system
    • Oversee all invoicing and settlement activities associated with contracted retail customers
    • Primary point of contact with AEP and Dominion - update customer information (PLC and NSPL) and to validate this information as needed
    • Coordinate with CCI trading desk to ensure CCE covers its hourly requirements with either Ingenco generation or contracted renewable generation
    • Assist executive management with long-range forecasting, planning, audit related activities, and other financial analysis as requested


    • Work with legal on all state and federal regulatory issues pertinent to development of competitive markets. This includes potential responses to regulatory inquiries
    • Responsible for ensuring that all activities are within the code for competitive energy in Virginia
    • Maintain all necessary registrations to perform to be a competitive supplier
    • Proactively stay current in other energy market related activity such as wholesale, retail, and energy trading operations and Regional Transmission Organization business practices.
