  • Overview

    The Power Assets Controller holds responsibility for all reporting related to the Power Assets portfolio.  We are seeking individuals that have solid accounting experience with ability to improve processes and controls to continue to build a function that is scalable and efficient.  This role reports directly to the Global Assets CFO and works regularly with commercial leaders who together create value by taking an active role in optimizing and improving the physical operations of these assets. This position has a team of three direct reports.

    Responsibilities

    Financial Accounting:

    • Oversee the completion of Monthly, Quarterly and Financial Year End Financials Statements along with overseeing day to day accounting activity.
    • Manage the annual budget and forecast processes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of accounts for monthly reporting.
    • Ensure proper controls and safe guards are in place to properly record and disclose financial activity in accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
    • Manage the implementation of policies, procedures, and performance.

    External Reporting:

    • Responsible for the year end statutory financial statements for asset legal entities which includes:
      • Regulatory filings and local books and records
      • Year-end disclosure information requirements
      • External reporting for satisfaction of banking covenants
      • External reporting for bank finance facilities
    • Responsibility for Year-End Audit process.

    Partnership/Equity Plan Accounting:

    • Overall responsibility for the accounting for CCI’s carried interest plans (notional and actual) across all businesses.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience with a combination of public/private preferred.
    • Prior experience working in a trading environment ideally within commodities or within retail energy is required.
    • Proven management experience with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Strong technical experience and knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
    • CPA is a plus.
