  • Overview

    CCI is hiring an Associate reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Finance that would work closely with the CFO’s team and Senior Leadership on strategic corporate initiatives, business development, corporate financing strategy, and implementation of strategies to optimize the overall platform.  Candidates with a variety of backgrounds will be considered ranging from a Pre-MBA 1st or 2nd year analyst in Investment Banking or Private Equity to those with additional experience in a corporate finance or business development function at a commodity merchant.  This is an ideal position for candidates looking to work in an entrepreneurial, small team environment and apply corporate finance, financial analysis, and capital market skills in a role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on management of a growing global enterprise.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist senior management in development of commercial strategy, including: merchant portfolio construction and capital allocation; developing wish-list optimizing asset acquisition and development alternatives; external development of capitalization alternatives; reviewing corporate M&A targets; optimization of cost structure
    • Help facilitate commercial business development initiatives, globally, including: preparing business plans, preparing capital structure plans, analyzing tax consequences of various structures; analyzing accounting implications of various structures
    • Conduct in-depth fundamental, financial and operational due diligence and analysis on new CCI strategic business development opportunities, investments and acquisitions
    • Participate in new business development execution including legal documentation, transaction structuring and capital markets events
    • Participate in strategic management and assessment of existing CCI global trading and asset operations
    • Build complex operating and financial models and prepare internal investment presentation materials for CCI senior leadership and Board of Directors

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree from a top-tier university with a strong GPA
    • Minimum of 1 year of investment banking or private equity experience
    • Excellent financial modeling, presentation, oral and written communication skills
    • Prior exposure to the energy industry is a plus, but will consider candidates with strong M&A or leveraged finance experience
    • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently
